My latest single, Rebirth, was inspired by the unexpected and welcome lessons that have emerged throughout the past 2 years since starting this solo music project.

The song is about allowing yourself to be truly seen by those around you and for me that has been allowing myself to express my creativity in all its glory.

I have always been a highly creative person but as I got older, I learned to keep that side of myself from truly flourishing to avoid whatever discomfort might arise either in myself or others if I decided to honour it.

Despite being a confident person, I was still fearful of being judged by others as I had too often heard people speak negatively about people who express themselves fully. Basically, I dimmed my light simply to be palatable.

These days, I say fuck that mentality. My priority is to express my truth in a way that feels comfortable for me first and foremost and if that truth resonates with others then that is an absolute bonus.

Social media has become a wonderful outlet for me to express the sides of myself that often go unseen in ‘real life’ and so for those who say social media is not real, they are missing a very empowering and honest aspect of it for creatives like me who like to keep it real. It has allowed me to freely express the dimensions of myself that are far more aligned with who I am at the core, yet far less acceptable to express in most workplace/social settings. I get to express my extra and it feels so good.

For when we honour ourselves in this way, we are able to expand beyond our wildest dreams and be reborn over and over again in one single lifetime. The lessons are endless and I am learning to move through them with far more ease than before. Letting go of all that holds me back.

I feel empowered to let my creativity shine bright as it forms the very foundations for my home and my heart and it seeps into everything I adore in this life.
